Orlando City Soccer Club is delighted to be named the Club World Club Cup winner.
The Orlando City B team were awarded the honour for a record fifth time and it was the first time the club had been recognised in the award.
The Lions had been runners-up in the previous two editions.
The honour is presented by the FIFA World Cup Foundation in recognition of the work of the International Federation of Football Associations (FFA) to build and strengthen football in Africa.
The 2017 World Club Championships took place from 12-17 September in Russia, with the tournament also taking place in Brazil, Turkey and Egypt.
The winner of the inaugural tournament was awarded $1.3 million in the form of a three-year investment by the FFA.
The B team also won the 2017 World Cup Women’s Qualifier, beating Cameroon 2-1 in their opening match.
The 2016 World Club Championship was also held in Russia.
